The BAC Education Group has been a strong advocate for providing free access to education for children, regardless of social status or background, embarking on the mission to “Transform Lives Through Education”.

As such, the BAC Education Group takes pride in its initiatives through its CSR arm, UPLIFT, including the Teach4Good Weekly Tuition which was conducted on the 6^th January 2024 at the Orang Asli Settlements located at Kampung Changkat Bintang, Slim River.

Motivation & Goals

BAC has always been focused on improving the quality of academic performances and one of these initiatives focuses on the empowerment of these Orang Asli children.

This initiative was meted out progressively by the volunteers through the vigorous practice incorporating the 3Rs namely, through fostering the habit of Reading, improving their skills in Writing and to cultivate their critical thinking skills through Arithmetic. The children were excited and keen to learn these skills.

It is an impactful initiative as it echoes the 4th UN Sustainability Development goal (UNSDG), which seeks to provide quality education for all.

The volunteers were thrilled to assist the children with their school homework, a commitment tirelessly provided by the volunteers every Saturday of the week from 10.00 a.m. – 1.00 p.m.

The effectiveness of the activity was further enhanced when free snacks were distributed to the children. The snacks were sponsored by the Free Food Society (“FFS”).

The event was successfully conducted by BAC Uplift volunteers in collaboration with The CIMB Group Tech & Data @ CIMB Foundation.

It was a heartwarming moment to see all 24 students from various age groups, ranging from the nursery age, (Aged 4 – 6 years old), Standard 1-6 and Forms 1-3, who had fun through various educational training such as spelling, understanding the concept of large numbers, reading of the clock and pronunciation.

Activities devised by the volunteers, such as confidence building, and playing with creative objects incorporated fun elements to the learning process and made the it that more fun and interesting which further added value to this event.

It was a rewarding experience for all volunteers who participated in imparting knowledge to these children who clearly needed the support.
