UPLIFT and BAC Distribute School Supplies to Children of Pangsapuri Seroja
BAC's CSR arm, UPLIFT and the Make It Right Movement collaborated to provide 30 children, aged 7 to 15 from Pangsapuri Seroja with essential school supplies. This event aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG1: No Poverty) and SDG4: Quality Education.
On 29th September 2024, UPLIFT made the primary goal of this initiative to supply these children with necessary school items, such as a school bag, stationery and a water bottle. By doing so, UPLIFT aimed to support the children’s education while also alleviating the financial burden on their parents. Additionally, the event sought to demonstrate that NGOs and support groups in Malaysia are always there in-service for families during times of need.
Supporting the Local Community
Ensuring that this isn't just a charitable gesture - UPLIFT wanted to make sure that, above all, it was an opportunity to provide tangible relief to families struggling with the rising costs of education. Parents no longer needed to worry about purchasing new school supplies, and the children could return to school feeling confident and ready to learn.
Beyond just providing that relief for the families, UPLIFT provided the families and children with a hearty lunch to fortify the sense of community that our charitable actions fight to establish within every facet of our Malaysian society.
Having that mindset only led to this event being such a huge success. It was marked by the joy of the 30 children who received their new school supplies. Feedback from the students highlighted their excitement and gratitude, as many expressed how happy they were to have new bags, stationery, and water bottles. This initiative not only equipped them for school but also fostered a sense of hope for a brighter future.
While the long-term impact will be measured over time, this initiative serves as a reminder of the importance of uplifting communities through education and care.
